Tablet Problems

Does anyone use a pc tablet for games/art? If so has anyone been having problems with random lag or your cursor freezing up. I was wondering if it was something that could be fixed or if I just need to buy a new tablet. Also if anyone has recommendations on a decent pc tablet ($80 - $150) let me know. Probably wont use it for art, just osu.

Anyway this is what has been happening.

I use one for awarding trophies on the app forums, never thought to try it for osu.

some things you could try before buying a new one:
make sure when you're playing osu you're not bumping the desk and moving the mouse at the same time causing interference.
check the mouse laser for any fine hairs obstructing it
see if you can reliably reproduce the problem (certain spot on the tablet, certain angle/strength/speed you move the pen)
update tablet drivers
try different USB port for the tablet
check if anythings visibly defective with the USB cable/plug
boot onto a live linux cd/usb and see if the problem is limited to windows/windows drivers (assuming the tablet is supported in linux)

Tablet recommendations? no idea for osu

I have had really good luck with my used Intuos Pro I got years ago from Ebay. Intuos Pros are pretty much top of the line and maybe might be overkill for what you are wanting it for.

For instance here is one currently selling for $150 currently for the small one(hour and a half left on the auction, looks like they go from 200-220 buy it now). http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wacom-Intuos-Pr ... 3a9fb1c58f

The non-pro version is only $85 new on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos-Touc ... rds=intuos

But yeah at the very least try to update drivers, try a different cable/usb port or even scrub the drivers and just try to reinstall it.

Just buy any wacom tablet. You don't need a larger size (unless you're crazy enough to use full tablet area) and you also don't need touch elements, so just buy whatever.

If you can, try to hover with the pen instead of directly "drawing" on the tablet, as that can wear out the pen pretty quickly from playing too much osu.

Also make sure osu frame rate is set to the maximum. 60 fps vSync is awful for playing with a mouse, so it might be terrible for tablets too.
